Real Bride Georgie wears Britania by House of St. Patrick

Georgie was dangerously close to handing over the reins and letting her family pick the dress, because after what felt like a lifetime of Pinterest spirals, endless tabs, and bridal brain fog, she was well and truly over it. But then she spotted Britania by House of St. Patrick, and she instantly knew she had to take a closer look. The scrolling stopped, her brain hit pause, and for the first time in forever, she thought, “Hold up… that’s the one.”

There was just one complication: the dress belonged to a Spanish designer, and Georgie had no idea if it even existed on Australian soil. So began a small but mighty mission to track it down. The relief when she discovered The Veil Collective stocked House of St. Patrick was very real, especially considering it meant a 7-hour drive from her home near Tamworth. That’s right, seven hours. When Georgie walked through our doors in May 2024, she brought her mum, her sister, and the quiet hope that the dress of her dreams would live up to the hype. No pressure.

From the moment she stepped into the boutique, her nerves melted away. Guided by her bridal stylist Jess T, the appointment was warm and joyful and before long, she said yes.

Georgie had always pictured a refined garden celebration at her parents’ property, with crisp white florals, lush greenery, a peaked marquee, silk bows, and candlelight that gave the whole scene a movie-like glow. With such a clear vision for the day, you might expect her to have a Pinterest board full of specific dress details. Instead of focusing on a particular silhouette or neckline, Georgie was chasing a feeling. She wanted something timeless with just the right amount of edge. Classic but not predictable. Memorable with a hint of surprise.

She found exactly that in Britania. The soft square neckline and visible corset bodice with a subtle basque detailing beautifully defined her waist, while the full tiered skirt caught the light with every movement. Generous gathering at each seam created a voluminous, grand silhouette that was both timeless and modern. It was simple but never plain, unique without being overdone, elevated, memorable, and perfect for the celebration ahead.

On March 14, 2025, the vision came to life. Getting ready in her family home, Georgie stepped into her gown and felt the quiet thrill every bride hopes for. This was really happening. The veil was on. The garden was ready. Surrounded by the love and support of her mum and sisters who had guarded the secret with careful excitement, the moment was filled with a warmth and joy that made everything feel truly unforgettable.

And her fiancé? Well, he was totally caught off guard. Expecting something classic and strapless, he was absolutely floored when Georgie walked down the aisle in a striking full corset bodice and a grand, pleated skirt.

Georgie’s got some seriously good advice: don’t overthink it, try on all the dresses, and laugh so hard your cheeks hurt. “It’s such a special part of the whole experience, so soak it all up. It all goes way too quick.”
