Real Bride Karly wears Custom Zoe by Vagabond Bridal
When Karly stepped into The Veil Collective, she arrived with curiosity and an open mind, eager to explore but without any expectations. Friends who had recently found their dream gowns with us had sung our praises and she wanted to experience it for herself. For over five years, she had pictured herself in a dramatic, pearl-cladden gown, yet after trying on several options, she realised that comfort and confidence mattered far more than extravagance. Karly wanted a dress that would allow her to move freely, feel completely herself and showcase her personality on her wedding day. A little nervous at first, she was instantly put at ease by her bridal stylist, Jess V, who made the appointment feel relaxed, tailored and exciting.
Initially eyeing Joelle by Romanova Atelier during her first visit into the boutique, Karly discovered Zoe by Vagabond Bridal upon her return, destined to take her time and make the perfect decision. The gown’s sumptuous, fluid fabric and elegantly sculpted silhouette captivated her instantly, offering the perfect harmony of sophistication and comfort. From the moment she slipped into the gown, she felt completely herself, her excitement noticeably radiating to everyone in the room. Collaborating closely with Jess V, Karly personalised Zoe to reflect her vision, drawing inspiration from Vagabond’s Atlas gown, delicate straps and a structured bodice were added for refinement, while the original soft, flattering Zoe crepe was retained.
On June 20th, 2025, Karly and Anry exchanged vows amidst the breathtaking hinterland hills at the newly unveiled Maroon Hill Estate, where uninterrupted views of rolling country landscape and dramatic clifftops set the tone for their romantic celebration. Zoe moved with her effortlessly, taking her from ceremony to reception while remaining comfortable and easy to wear. Exuding refined simplicity and thoughtful detail, Zoe became an effortless expression of Karly’s individuality and when paired with her statement lace-trim veil, she created a bridal look that was both enduring and striking.
The celebration itself was a perfect extension of Karly and Anru’s playful, relaxed personalities. The day was stylish yet informal, featuring woodfired pizza, craft ginger beer and chips, while guests were invited to dress in black tie for a fun contrast. Personal touches were sprinkled throughout, the groomsmen wore camo Crocs, bridesmaids were wrapped in plush HOMMEY robes and bouquets were thoughtfully handcrafted from faux blooms. Their ceremony honoured their faith with a Bible reading, worship and communion, keeping the day deeply meaningful. A gelato cart replaced the traditional cake, a delightfully sweet finale that became one of the day’s most talked-about moments.
Karly’s journey is a reminder to brides still searching for their dream gown to trust their instincts and focus on what truly matters. Surround yourself with supportive voices who understand your vision and allow their positivity to enhance the experience rather than cloud it. Choosing a gown that feels right for you is far more important than conforming to a preconceived idea or anyone else’s expectations.
Of course, the road to the perfect day isn’t without its challenges. From small bumps in the lead-up to last-minute details, Karly embraced every moment with perspective and confidence. By staying true to her priorities and not compromising on what mattered most, the day unfolded beautifully. The result was a celebration that reflected Karly and Anru perfectly and one she will cherish forever, with a honeymoon in Mexico waiting to follow, every bit of the planning and preparation made worthwhile.
