Most brides begin alterations around 8 to 10 weeks before their departure date or wedding day. We recommend preemptively booking your first fitting when you book your collection appointment to secure your ideal time. And if it turns out you don’t need any alterations, hooray, you get to take your dress home right away!

Yes! No matter where you said “yes” to your dress, brides across Brisbane and Moreton Bay are welcome to have their gowns altered with us. Our experienced alterations team works with a wide range of styles and designers to ensure your gown fits perfectly for your big day. Please note, there may be a slight delay in receiving your quote, as our seamstress will need to assess the technical and structural details of your dress if purchased elsewhere, since its fabrics and detailing may differ from what we typically work with.

We primarily offer alterations appointments from Wednesdays to Fridays. If these days don’t suit your schedule, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to accommodate an alternative time.

You’ll be in the very capable hands of our experienced tailoring team, working alongside one of our stylists to make sure your vision is fully heard and understood. You’ll slip into your dress and then chat through any tweaks or adjustments you’d like to make.

During the fitting, Mandy will carefully assess the fit and structure of your gown to identify any areas that need attention, whether that’s taking in the bust, adjusting the waist, hemming to the perfect length, or refining sleeves and straps. We’ll also discuss any additional details you may want, like adding bra cups for support or installing a bustle to lift your train for the reception.

Bring along your wedding shoes so we can nail the perfect hem, and wear the shapewear or undergarments you’ll be wearing on the day. This helps us make any tweaks needed for a flawless fit, with no surprises on your big day.

You’re welcome to bring one guest along to your alteration fittings. These sessions are a little different from our usual bridal appointments and require a more focused and technical approach so we can give your gown the attention it deserves.

Yes, alterations are a separate service and not included in the price of your gown. We offer expert in-house alterations to make sure your dress fits like an absolute dream, with pricing tailored to the tweaks and changes you need. At your first fitting, we’ll talk you through everything so you feel totally confident and in the loop from the very beginning.

The cost of alterations depends on the style and fabric of your gown, but on average, brides can expect to pay between $400 and $700. We’ll provide a personalised quote before any work begins, so you’ll know exactly what to expect without any surprises. Any additional customisations or touch-ups discussed after your initial quoted appointment will incur an additional fee.

If you purchased your gown with us, the balance of your dress is due before any alterations work can commence, ensuring the dress is fully yours. Payment for alterations is then due at your final pick-up appointment, so the balance is only settled once you’re completely happy with your gown and it’s perfectly ready for your big day.

We typically invite our brides for an initial fitting, with a second fitting if needed to fine-tune the details, finishing off with a final pick-up appointment to ensure your gown is flawless and ready for your big day. Every bridal journey is unique, so don’t be alarmed if additional appointments are required.

We build in ample buffer time before your wedding for your final pick-up, giving us the opportunity to make any last adjustments.

We recognise that bodies naturally change throughout the month and as your wedding day approaches, so we encourage you to listen to your body. If you notice changes such as feeling fuller through the bust, consider rescheduling your fitting to ensure your gown reflects your body on the day. This allows us to make any necessary adjustments so your dress fits comfortably and looks beautiful, even if changes occur before the final pick-up.

No stress if your gown doesn’t fit perfectly right away. We can let it out, add matching fabric panels, or create a lace-up back to ensure the perfect fit, all while keeping the look beautifully you. Your dream dress, tailored with love just for you.

Yes! We can customise a wide range of gown details to make your dress truly yours. This includes petticoats, necklines, sleeves, straps, train length, adding or removing buttons, lace or applique placements and even creating lace-up or corset-style backs. The sooner you enquire, the better, as approval depends on our current production capacity for alterations. Be sure to bring any inspiration you have so we can help bring your vision to life.

If you’d like to add sleeves, a neck scarf, or other fabric details to your gown, we can help organise this for you. We can source the fabric on your behalf, ensuring it matches in quality and works with your gown’s construction for an additional fee. Alternatively, you’re welcome to supply your own fabric, and our team will incorporate it seamlessly into your dress.

If your gown doesn’t feel supportive, there are several options to help you feel secure and confident. We can add built-in cups, adjust or add bra straps, create a lace-up back, or incorporate hidden boning for extra structure. Our team will work with you to find the solution that feels comfortable and flattering for your body.

Our alterations fittings take place in our upstairs fitting room at our North Lakes boutique. It’s a private, peaceful, and spacious space where you can feel completely at ease sharing any dress-related questions or concerns with our team.

Yes, we do offer rush alterations depending on production schedules. Same-week service is available for an additional rush fee, so be sure to get in touch with us as soon as possible to enquire.
